The Valentine's Day Countdown Has Begun

Not sure what to do for Valentine's Day? Here is an idea to consider.

Around this time of year, we may feel a little pressure to be truly passionate or do something spontaneous or inspiringly romantic.

It's a daunting task. So until Valentine's Day arrives, I shall do my best to give you some interesting options, and let you know about any promotions or offers that may be of interest when preparing for Feb. 14.

Here's one to start you off.

If you're looking for something really different, Ethnika Home Decor and Antiques is having a Valentine's Day sale from Feb. 3 to Feb. 17.

"I have items from all around the world—over 10,000 to choose from," said Yvonne Jean Rabie, co-owner with her husband, Daniel Carranza.

The couple travels the globe looking for interesting inventory to offer their customers. And from the look of the Web site, their store is unique.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
