8" Snow Test Snow Angels Mettle

WOW! What a snow storm!

Ten days ago when Councilman Jared Rice and NRCoNA Co-Chair Joyce Furfero discussed organizing the New Ro Snow Angels (NRSA), the 10-day forecast called for 1" of snow starting Tuesday night around midnight! Instead, the snow started Tuesday morning and New Rochelle got over 8" (depending on where you measured).

The NRSA's first crop of Snow Angels got a good workout this morning and it apparently went very well. Councilman Rice did his part and shoveled snow for a family in Homestead Park. See above.

One couple, the Tuckers, paid their Snow Angel, Jamillah Blair, a very nice compliment:

"Thank you so much for sending Jamillah to us. She is a very conscientious young woman and did a good job clearing out both our front and back steps and walkways. We really appreciate it."

Councilman Rice and Mrs. Furfero had hoped to have a handful of "angels" and "clients" matched for the first snow storm and they achieved that goal. Five angels shoveled out 6 houses.

NRSA has 7 more angels signed up. It needs some "clients." If you or anyone you know, an elderly or disabled person who needs help, email us at newrosnowangels@gmail.com or post on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/newro.snowangels, or tweet us, @NewRoSnowAngels.
