My Middle School Life - The Sis - Ms. Leigh Saves the Day

I'm eleven now.  On my birthday eight people decorated my locker with colorful rainbow wallpaper and put my name in duct tape on the front.  People put sticky notes with "Happy Birthday!" on them, even a mini, tiny sticky note with only "Happy B-day" from a boy named Zach.  There are 17 boys named Zach in 6th grade at Isaac Leonard, but I know who this one was because he told me.  Also, an eighth grade girl from the bus gave me a gift!  How nice is that?  I just met her this year and we only know each other from the bus.  She gave me perfume and lotion tied with a ribbon in a wooden box that she stained herself.  Wow!  Isn't that amazing?  I never got perfume as a gift before, but now I am 11 and have perfume.

In between our Thanksgiving Breakfast event and watching The Dick van Dyke Show at lunch, we had orchestra.  The auditorium was being taken up so we had to go to this other room.  This room was really small.  It was hard to move around in there with my trombone.  The whole orchestra class didn't go half bad, until the very end.  I was doing my favorite part, a dramatic finale and turned my trombone to get a better sound, and then somehow, I tipped over the xylophone!  Everyone turned towards me and then ran away so as not to be blamed.   All the little pieces fell off and rolled away.  I learned the meaning of the word cacophony.

My English teacher, Ms. Leigh, was at the airport waiting to pick up her brother who works for Google (that is another story) and she saw One Direction, the teenage hip group that all the girls are crazy about.  They had body guards and had just been whisked into the airport to board the plane quickly.  Ms. Leigh saw this teenage girl, who was getting really angry at herself because she couldn't bring herself to say hello to One Direction.  The girl was frozen.  Ms. Leigh grabbed the girl by the arm, a complete stranger, and brought her up to Harry Stiles.  The body guard was looking really mean and said "No pictures!", but Harry Stiles said "Just One!" and they were able to get a picture in front of the mean body guard.  Ms. Leigh saved the day!  By the way, Ms. Leigh's brother told her about the super secret Google floating barge island off the coast of San Francisco.  It hit the news months later, but Ms. Leigh knew all about it all along.

A few days ago, there was this new boy on the bus.   My friend Skylar said to him 'Hi, when did you start riding this bus?' he said "I have been riding this bus since the first day of school".  Skylar said "I have never seen you before".  He said he gets off at the Pizza Hut.  Skylar said "That stop passed a long time ago!"  It took him that long to realize he missed his stop.  He was wide awake!  How could he miss his stop?

I read a book about anti-gravity today.  I started to read it and couldn't put it down.
