Carvin Challenges Lowey to Demand Speaker Silver's Resignation

Joe Carvin says "Nita Lowey cannot continue to stand on the sidelines on a matter of such importance to state government."

CARVIN CHALLENGES LOWEY TO JOIN HIM IN CALL FOR
ASSEMBLY SPEAKER SILVER TO RESIGN

"Ms. Lowey Needs to Step Up and Do the Right Thing"

Westchester-Rockland--Sept.  5 ...Rye Town Supervisor and congressional candidate Joe Carvin (R), who called on New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver to resign his leadership post yesterday for attempting to bury yet another series of sexual assault allegations against one of his political colleagues -- with $103,000 in taxpayer hush money -- today called on Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-Mamaroneck) to join him in calling for the Speaker's resignation.  "Nita Lowey cannot continue to stand on the sidelines on a matter of such importance to the integrity of state government," Mr. Carvin said. "Shelly Silver has now worked to bury at least three separate allegations of sexual impropriety; he must not be allowed to remain Assembly Speaker. Ms. Lowey's silence on this issue suggests  that she is putting political party above the rights of these young women.  I urge her to join me in calling for Mr. Silver to step aside as Speaker."   Mr. Silver has helped arrange taxpayer payouts to young female staff members for the sexual misdeeds of two assemblyman, Vito Lopez and Mark Alan Siegel, and his former legislative counsel Michael Boxley.  Mr. Silver failed to immediately report any of these incidents to law enforcement authorities.  ###

Ah, but Joe – Your fellow Rye Republican Mayor Douglas French, who sits with you on the Rye Town Park Commission Board, “has now worked to bury at least three separate allegations of “personal misconduct concerning his - illegally zoned and under-taxed Rye City rental property - his illegal secret uninspected renovations to that same structure - and (here’s a feloniously good one) his taking for 10 years a second illegal STAR tax exemption on that same structure while his principal residence was across town. Thus by your standards Mr. French “must not be allowed to remain” Rye City Mayor, right? Mr. Cup-o-Joe’s “silence on this issue suggests that (he) is putting political party above the rights of” all other honest Rye City resident taxpayers. Joe there’s even a movie about all this and its facts have not been rebutted. You have a computer, right? Does it have audio speakers? Well click this link and then let Mrs. Lowey know you’re not a just another political patsy for crooked local special interests - YOU STAND FOR SOMETHING! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6nWzVM99R8
