Zumba Classes to Benefit New Rochelle Animal Shelter

There will be two classes that will benefit the dogs and cats at the shelter.

On Sunday, December 15, there will be a Zumba charity event called Party for the Paws at Rooftop Rhythms in New Rochelle.

People can take one of two different classes, said organizer Stacy Hanson, who teaches at Shred Factory in Mamaroneck.

She said she was inspired by her mother who, every year, puts together donations for the shelter, which serves 19 communities in Westchester County including Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Eastchester, Elmsford, Greenburgh, Harrison, Hartsdale, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington, Larchmont, Town of Mamaroneck, Mamaroneck Village, New Rochelle, Pelham, Pelham Manor, Rye, Rye Brook, Scarsdale and Tarrytown.

"I decided to take my mother's idea to another level," Hanson said. "I'm an animal lover. I have two dogs and two cats."

To participate, people can register online for $15 at www.partyforthepaws.eventbright.com. The classes will be at 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

Rooftop Rhythms is located at 10 S. Division St, 3rd floor, in New Rochelle.

Shred Factory is at 510 E. Boston Post Rd. in Mamaroneck.
