New Playground Equipment Debuts at Davis School in New Rochelle

The new playground emphasizes upper-body strength training.

Students at Davis Elementary School in New Rochelle got to try a brand-new playground.

The equipment was recently installed and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in the crisp and breezy air Friday.

Cathy Flood and Anne Marie Nascimento, PTA co-presidents, said the new playground replaced equipment that was old and required a lot of maintenance to keep it serviceable.

The New Rochelle School District paid about the same amount for installation and the special surfacing, Flood said.

There were three ribbon cuttings so that all the students could participate and try out the new equipment during their lunch periods.
