Ridge Hill Whole Foods Gives Back to FARE

Thanks to Ridge Hill Whole Foods this past Saturday, I had chance to create further awareness about FARE - the Food Allergy Research & Education non-profit that was created as a result of the 2012 merger of FAAN (FOod Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network) and FAI (Food Allergy Initiative).  Wendy H., my son and I spoke with a variety of individuals and families while we volunteered at the FARE table during Whole Foods Gluten Free awareness day. There was such a variety of people; some who were interested only in the samples and others who understood too well what living with food allergies and gluten intolerance is all about but were unfamiliar with FARE.  We handed out samples of Gluten Free food as well as postcards about the Upcoming FARE walk at Glen Island on September 28.
I feel as if we are slowly spreading awareness and making a difference to families who are raising kids with food allergies.  No one has to go through the experience alone because there are many people and businesses that care about supporting those who have food allergies.

I want to thank Donna M. from Whole Foods for helping to draw people over to our table.  This was the 2nd time that FARE was represented there.  We will be there again during the Farmer's Market on the afternoon of September 6th  to promote awareness about FARE, food allergies & the Westchester FARE WALK.
