League of Women Voters of New Rochelle School, Library Candidate Forum

Candidates Forum for the New Rochelle Board of Education and the New Rochelle
Public Library Board of Trustees will be held on Thursday, May 15, 7 pm in the
library's Ossie Davis Auditorium, 1 Library Plaza. The public is encouraged to
attend and submit written questions for the candidates  via email  at royjoanalex@yahoo.com or at the
Forum.  

The forum will be videotaped and
shown repeatedly on cable television in the days before the May 20 election. New
Rochelle residents will also vote on the school district budget and the library
budget.

            There will be three candidates for
two Board of Education seats:  Jeffrey
Hastie, incumbent, Dr. Salvador A. Fernandez, and Ricardo Monzon.  Long time school board member Dierdre Polow
is not running for reelection. Terms are for 5 years.

            Library Board of Trustees president
Haina Just-Michael and member Emery Schweig are running unopposed for
reelection.
