Apple-Metro, Inc., the New York Metro Area Applebee’s franchisee, will open its 34th Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar location on Monday, November 5th at 75 Metropolitan Oval in Bronx, NY. The opening of this new Applebee’s marks Apple-Metro’s fifth location in the Bronx offering the community signature favorites, great service, and an affordable place to eat. Applebee’s Parkchester is the first of two new Applebee’s set to open in 2012, as the franchisee has plans to open an additional location in East River Plaza on 117th St, Harlem by the end of the year.

All proceeds from the Applebee’s Parkchester VIP Opening Party – which will take place on Saturday, November 3 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm – will be donated to Bronx Chamber of Commerce to be allocated to local community programs.  Local Elected officials including the Bronx Borough President and local Council and Assembly Members have been invited to join in the ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

Not only does this sit-down, casual dining restaurant at Metropolitan Oval in the Bronx offer a comfortable environment for 200+.  This location will also offer free Wi-Fi service and Personal Viewing Systems, enabling guests to hear what they are watching on Applebee’s Flat Screen TVs.

It seemed to me the key point of moving the City Yard from the waterfront was to open up theRead More waterfront and turn that run down and obsolete yard into a public park overlooking Long Island Sound. The westside site was the most cost effective place to move the yard. Not ideal, but no real alternative has been proposed. I don't think this has much to do with racism. All races can enjoy more of the waterfront. Any development around it will add to our tax base

Ms. Aronow, The issue is that an alternative has been suggested, Ward Acres, as it is much largerRead More and strategically beneficial for the City of New Rochelle. I don't think the recent public discussions has resulted in unanimity in terms of the waterfront being an entirely public venue for all races to enjoy.
