The Montfort Academy, an award-winning classical high school, is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul of Mount Vernon, NY, to relocate there from Katonah beginning in September 2013 and will be holding open houses for parents and students to see the new facilities.

Richard Greco, Chairman of Montfort, said, “Our move from northern Westchester to southern Westchester will allow Montfort to reach a more numerous and diverse prospective student body.  Relocating will also allow more students to take advantage of Montfort’s affordable, classical Catholic education.  Fleetwood is a beautiful section of the City of Mount Vernon, and we are excited to becoming part of a vibrant, active parish community with genuine pastoral leadership.”

Three Open House events will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul on Thursday, February 7th, from 5-7pm, Saturday,
February 9th, from 12-2pm, and Monday and Tuesday, February 11th and 12th, from 5-7 p.m.  All prospective in-coming 9th-grade and transferring students and their families are welcome to attend.

The Parish of Saints Peter and Paul, located at 129 E Birch Street in Mt Vernon, was established in 1929 and serves the people of Mount Vernon’s Fleetwood neighborhood.  For more information on the parish, visit www.stspeterandpaulmvny.org

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
