Ginny Howsam Friedman will exhibit her paintings (oil on canvas) and color prints (on paper) from December 1, 2012 through January 6, 2013. She has been painting, drawing, and coloring for as long as she can remember, and her mother was a painter of oils before her. She was an art major in high school and was the art director for the senior yearbook, as well as the recipient of the senior award as the most distinguished artist. She received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Pratt Institute after both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from The State University of New York at Albany.
After college, she worked as an art director at Ogilvy & Mather, and then served as a recruiter for the Creative Departments at Dancer, Fitzgerald, Sample and at Ted Bates Advertising. She then became a founder and principal and executive recruiter at Howsam/Weingarten. At her company, she worked with creative directors and managers of all major New York advertising agencies as well at agencies across the country and the world. Her firm also handled the staffing for mid-sized agencies and small, creative boutiques. While working, she still made time to continue her own creative endeavors.
Ginny has exhibited her artwork in dozens of group shows in the tri-state area. She has had solo shows in Bronxville, Glens Falls, Chatham, Larchmont, and Piermont. She also exhibits in galleries where her work is sold in both New York City and Piermont. She has had multiple awards from various juried shows and has been noted in Fine Arts Connoisseur Magazine. The work in this exhibit will be offered for sale as well as for your viewing pleasure.
The following is a quote from her website: “Color and light are essential. I think of them together as one. Line is inherent to a composition. And composition includes all of the above plus texture. But color and light start me on my way.”

4:30 pm. The museum is open Saturdays and Sundays. You can visit any other time, however, by getting the key in the Beth El office or from the greeter at the front door.
