The New Rochelle Council on the Arts celebrates Black History Month and Presidents' Day with a new exhibition at NRCA's Rotunda Gallery at City Hall.
FREEDOM! - A 150-Year Commemoration of the Emancipation Proclamation will open on Tuesday, February 19 with a reception from 6 - 8 pm, free and open to the public. The exhibition will run through March 31 at the NRCA Rotunda Gallery located in City Hall, 515 North Ave., New Rochelle, NY.
FREEDOM! features the work of many local artists including: Murray Beaver, Cristina Cerone, Sr. Anne Therese Dillen, Cecelia Duncan, Livia Gus, Ellen Lazarus, Barbara Levine, Maristela Margutti, Lisa Post, Wendy Vigroux, Judith Weber, Hubert Williams and John Wright.
Although the exhibition celebrates the January 1, 1863 signing by President Abraham Lincoln of the Emancipation Proclamation; FREEDOM! also celebrates the themes of freedom in everyday life, on the national front and in the global community.
