Habitat for Humanity of Westchester Hosts Holiday Party at New Rochelle High School

Habitat Fire Drumline performed at Habitat for Humanity of Westchester's Holiday Party at New Rochelle High School on December 12, 2013. Set up for the party came courtesy of the Habitat Club at New Rochelle High School. There was plenty of great food and music. Jim Killoran, the Director of the Westchester affiliate, gave an impassioned talk about the need for affordable housing. Jim thanked the many volunteers and supporters assembled and introduced the four families that signed contracts with Habitat to get a new home, as well as the veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars that were now working with Habitat and the veterans' families who were in the process of getting a home.

Habitat is currently seeking donations to their Home for the Holidays program, an end of the year push to get people back into their homes. Along with homes for veterans, there is still a great need to repair homes in the Rockaways on account of Hurricane Sandy.
