What's Open and Closed Monday in New Rochelle

Monday is Presidents Day and is a federal holiday.

Monday, Feb. 18, is the official observance of President's Day. It is a federal holiday so government offices, including New Rochelle City Hall, will be closed. New Rochelle public schools are not in session for the whole week. Major banks will be closed also.

The United States Postal Service Web site said that post offices will not be open Monday. Only Express Mail will be delivered.

Postal customers needing services Monday can go to the USPS's 24/7 access Self Service Ship & Mail Centers located in the following Post Office lobbies in Larchmont at 1 Chatsworth Ave., Scarsdale at 29 Chase Rd. and White Plains Main at 100 Fisher Ave.

Many businesses will be open Monday, so it would be best to call ahead to make certain.

The New Rochelle Public Library will be closed Monday. Both branches will reopen Tuesday—the main branch at 9 a.m. and Huguenot Children's Library at 10 a.m.

There will be no garbage collection Monday. The north end will have garbage collected Tuesday; the south end, Wednesday. Garbage and paper will be collected Thursday in the north end and Friday in the south end. Collection schedules and information for 2013 can be found now on the City's Web site.
