Snow Possible Through Friday in New Rochelle

There is a coastal flood warning and winter weather advisory in effect.

Wintry weather will be moving into the New Rochelle area Wednesday afternoon and could stay around until Friday.

The National Weather Service said rain is likely between noon and 3 p.m., with rain and snow after 3 p.m. The high will be near 43 degrees, with northeast winds from 20 to 22 mph.

The total daytime snow accumulation is predicted to be less than half an inch.

There is a coastal flood warning in effect from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a coastal flood watch continuing into Thursday morning. A winter weather advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 p.m. Thursday. 

For Wednesday night, there could be between 1 and 3 inches of snow possible. The low will dip to around freezing and winds from the north will be 18 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.

The weather service has snow likely before 3 p.m. Thursday, then a chance of rain and snow. The high will be near 37, and winds will continue from the north 22 to 24 mph. Gusts could be as high as 37 mph.

While the daytime snow for Thursday is predicted to be less than 1 inch, up to 3 inches could fall overnight into Friday.
