New Rochelle Man $500,000 Pick 10 Winner

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoretown Stationery on Pelham Road.

The New York Lottery today announced the name of a New Rochelle Pick 10 player who won $500,000 in the drawing held on July 1. The winner, Vincent Tardibono, purchased the winning ticket at the Shoretown Stationery at 434 Pelham Rd. in New Rochelle.

Lottery prizes up to $600 may be cashed at any of the Lottery's 17,000 licensed retailers statewide. Lottery prizes valued at $601 to $999,999 may be claimed at any of the Lottery's stand-alone Customer Service Centers located in Buffalo; Rochester; Syracuse; Schenectady; Fishkill; Manhattan; and Garden City, and within any of the Lottery's gaming facilities including Resorts World New York Casino at Aqueduct; Saratoga Casino & Raceway; Monticello Casino & Raceway; Tioga Downs Casino; Batavia Downs Casino; Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway; Hamburg Casino at the Fairgrounds; Finger Lakes Casino & Racetrack; and Vernon Downs Casino & Hotel. Prizes of $1,000,000 or more must be claimed at one of the Lottery's stand-alone offices listed above.

The New York Lottery continues to be North America's largest and most profitable lottery, contributing close to $2.9 billion in fiscal year 2011-12 to help support education in New York State. The lottery's aid represents nearly 15 percent of total state education funding to local school districts.

Lottery revenue is distributed to local school districts by the same statutory formula used to distribute other state aid to education. It takes into account both a school district's size and its income level; larger, lower-income school districts receive proportionately larger shares of lottery school funding.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
