Before an appreciative crowd in the Ossie Davis Theater at the New Rochelle Public Library, nine harpists with The Westchester Harp Ensemble performed more than a dozen traditional Irish songs Saturday afternoon.
The program was made possible through the mutual support of the New Rochelle Business Improvement District, the Department of Parks and Recreation, the New Rochelle School District and the library.
Several children as young as eight performed alongside the adults in the group, and the performance also included a harp and flute interlude, and the singing of "Danny Boy" by one member of the group as some in the audience sang along.
