Great Escape: Bikes and Bubble Baths

Make a day out of enjoying New Rochelle surroundings with a bike rental and park excursion, topped off with a soothing bubble bath.

It's starting to finally feel like spring, so why not take a trip with your friends and see what New Rochelle has to offer. An escape from the family is as simple as riding a bike.

in New Rochelle offers bicycle rentals at $9 per hour or $55 for a 24-hour period. Couple that with a $2.50 helmet rental and you are ready to start cruising the area in comfort and style.

The back, wide roads of Wykagyl make for a great place to view historic homes, while the streets of Downtown New Rochelle—although not for the faint of heart—are easily bike-able. A short distance from the bike shop, one can find many parks and recreation areas including Hudson Park, Five Islands Park and Davenport Park, all with their beautiful views of the Long Island Sound.

After spending the day out and about, you may not be the sweetest smelling flower in the pot. A relaxing bubble bath with the Soft Pink Bubble Bath from on Main Street will give you the time to recoup and refresh before returning to your daily grind.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
