The exhibit will feature antique garden tools collected by landscape architect Mark Morrison. Specialized tools such as clod crushers, cucumber straighteners, and wasp catchers are displayed alongside more familiar objects such as dibbles (for planting bulbs) and watering cans, each handmade in practical yet elegant forms that will appeal to all visitors, even those who have never weeded a garden with a daisy grubber. Other dates and times are available.
Pricing:
$5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, and free for children under 6.

4. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted
Where/When:
, 50 Harrison St New Rochelle, Saturday, June 16, and Sunday, June 17, times vary.
Why go: Now that the opening weekend has passed—and the movie beat Prometheus at the box office—this might be the time to take the kids to this animated sequel featuring Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo and Melman the Giraffe trying to get home to New York City. And it wouldn't be a Madagascar movie if there weren't penguins.
Pricing: Prices vary.

5.

Why go: Celebrate Father's Day a day early with some favorite "Daddy" reads, plus a great selection of books hand-picked for dads. Children can make a special Father's Day card. It's best for ages 4 through 9.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
