Grab & Go Kids Planner: Family and Pet Photos, Colonial Fair and Charity Dog Walk

Events and activities to keep your little ones amused over the upcoming weekend.

Why Go: Bring your pets and the rest of the family over to Greenburgh Nature Center's family and pet portrait day to create a lasting memory. Sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click here to sign up and reserve your spot.

Pricing: $40, plus small service fee.

Where/When:
, 20 Sicard Ave., New Rochelle, Saturday, Oct.1, 10 a.m.
Why Go: At Thomas Paine Cottage Museum's Colonial Fair, attendees get to experience "a day in the life of a one-room schoolhouse student, use slates to learn the ABC’s and arithmetic, and be part of a "spell-down." The fair will also feature traditionally dressed colonial people, crafts, bake sale, white elephant sale and refreshments.
Pricing: Free. Donations are appreciated.

, 175 Wolfs Ln., Pelham, Friday, Sept. 30, 3 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 1, 1:30 p.m.
Why Go: Pelham Picture House's ongoing Family Flicks series presents a screening of Walt Disney's Mary Poppins.
Pricing: General admission, $10; advanced tickets, $6; members, $5; Family level members and above can use their vouchers for free admission.

, 155 Fifth Ave., Pelham, Saturday, Oct. 1, 1:30 p.m.
Why Go: This free workshop is being held in conjunction with The Ocean Reglitterized exhibit. Participants of all ages are invited to come to the Pelham Art Center and help create a large-scale mosaic. The finished creation will be put on display at the Art Center.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When:
Glen Island Park, Weyman Ave., New Rochelle, Sunday, Oct. 2, 10 a.m.
Why Go: New Rochelle Humane Society and Pet Rescue have partnered to raise money for cats and dogs in need. The annual Hounds on the Sound event will begin at 10 a.m. with a 1.5-mile walk for dogs and their people along a path bordering the Long Island Sound in Glen Island Park. The dog walk will be followed by by a fun-filled day in the park, featuring activities for kids, vendors, refreshments, demonstrations, dog contests and music. There will also be a raffle for Giants tickets. Dogs and cats will be available for adoption. Hounds on the Sound will be held rain or shine. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the walk begins at 11:30 a.m. Click here for further information and to register for the walk or sponsor a walker.
Pricing: $25 for individual walker registration; $40 for family registration (up to 2 adults plus kids).
