New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plaza, Friday, April 22, 1 p.m.
Why Go:
An opportunity for kids to create interesting crafts from recycled items in celebration of Earth Day.
Pricing: Free.

2.
Where/When:
The Pelham Picture House, 175 Wolfs Ln., Pelham, Saturday, April 23, 11 a.m.

Why Go: The Pelham Picture House will show the animated musical adaptation of E.B. White's classic, Charlotte's Web, as part of their Family Flicks series.
Pricing: Members $5/Non-members $8. Family level members and above can use their vouchers for free admission. Click here to purchase tickets.

Where/When:
Greenburgh Nature Center, 99 Dromore Rd, Scarsdale, Saturday, April 23, 1-3:30 p.m.
Why Go:
The Greenburgh Nature Center and The Children and Nature Network will hold an "earth-friendly afternoon" at the nature center. Activities will include sprucing up the grounds of GNC, preparing garden beds and learning about sustainability practices from GNC's staff. All Earth Day volunteers will be entitled to a free visit to the nature center's Animal Museum.
Pricing: Free. Pre-registration is required.

Where/When:
New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plaza, Saturday, April 23, 10-10:30 a.m. Also at Huguenot Children's Library, 794 North Ave., 11-11:30 a.m.
Why Go:
Certified Kids Yoga Instructor Susan Fried will take toddlers on a "yoga adventure" using puppets, props and songs. For toddlers up to 24 months. Parents are encouraged to participate.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Jacob Burns Film Center, 364 Manville Rd., Pleasantville, Saturday, April 23, and Sunday, April 24, 12 p.m.
Why Go:
JBFC will show Anastasia, starring Ingrid Bergman. The Burns Film Center shows $1 kid-friendly films every weekend.
Pricing: Children, $1; Adult Non Member, $11; JBFC Member Tickets, $6.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
