Carly Rose Sonenclar Competes in 'X Factor' Finale

The Mamaroneck teen was eliminated on 'X Factor' show.

Despite the plethora of "Carly's Angels" rooting for Mamaroneck teen Carly Rose Sonenclar, it, unfortunately, was not enough to propel her to the winner's circle on X Factor tonight.

Tate Stevens, the country music singer competing with Carly in the final rounds after Fifth Element was eliminated, was declared the winner of X Factor and of a $5 million recording contract.

"I got to thank the man upstairs for taking care of me," he said, after the results were announced.

Carly performed "All I Want For Christmas is You" with an army of dancing "toy soldiers" accompanying her on stage.

Judge Simon Cowell echoed what many others have said about the teen star: "I mean, 13-years-old, this girl has such a huge career ahead of her."

Mentor and judge Britney Spears said of Carly's performance, "Every time she performs, it's different."

After her performance, Carly held back tears as she watched a video montage of family and friends wishing her good luck.

"It's pretty surreal," she said of her X Factor experience. "I can't believe it's even happening."
