5 Things for the Week Ahead: Open Mic, Cuban Night and 'The Ocean Reglitterized'

5 things you need to know for the week of Sept. 12, 2011.

1. Why not start your week off with some wine and jazz on Monday evening? The Gnarly Vine hosts an every Monday at 9 p.m. with jazz musician Andrew Lipow.

2. On Wednesday, in Pelham will host a with Stella and Dot jewelry and handbags. Two Stella and Dot stylists will be on hand for fall style consultations. Also, 50 percent of the merchandise is under $50. The "boutique" will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

3. Are you itching to see some new films that aren't being shown at those commercial multiplex theatres? Well, come down to to check out some new indie releases this week. Films include Beginners, The Tree, The Interrupters and Buck.

4. On Friday, the will host a free opening reception and all-age art workshop in celebration of the center's latest exhibit, The Ocean Reglitterized. The event gets underway at 6:30 p.m.

5. Enjoy some Cuban culture right here in New Rochelle on Friday night at the 's . The event begins at 6 p.m. and will feature an 11-piece band, a cigar roller, Cuban barbecue and mojitos.
