Healthy Homemade Cookies For Your Dog!

One of our good friends suggested this recipe for dog cookies. Dr. G tried it with Copper, and he LOVES them (Cooper, that is... not Dr. G)! In fact, he stands by the freezer and looks at the door because he knows that's where they're kept (again, Cooper...not Dr. G)!

What you'll need:

  • Chicken Livers -  20 ounces
  • Rice Flour - 2 cups
  • Egg - 1
  • Parsely - 1/4 cup

Rinse off the chicken livers and pat dry. Mix all ingredients together in a food processor or blender until it is cookie dough consistency. Place tablespoon-sized amounts on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes, or until cookies are grey-brown throughout. (No pink in the middle). Allow to cool on a rack and serve. Cookies should be stored in the freezer and taken out as needed.

If your dog is allergic to chicken, you can substitute other liver or meat sources. For egg allergies, sometimes egg white, egg substitute, tofu or mashed potato can serve as a binding agent.

Enjoy!
