Picture Gallery: Hurricane Sandy Damage

Hurricane Sandy tore through New Rochelle and hit Beechmont Drive. Winds ripped up trees and knocked down power lines, causing extensive damages in the area.

Many traffic lights on North Avenue are not working, including the intersection of Summit and North avenue, where Iona students are constantly crossing.

My daughter from Wisconsin lives in New Rochelle, hope there were not to many injuries, and your on your way to cleaning up the debris, and getting back to your lives.

Thanks, Cindy. Looking at all the damage from fallen trees and downed wires, I am amazed there were many serious injuries or deaths. In my neighborhood, which is in day three of no electricity, the trees fell away from the houses, for the most part, or managed to not hit them when they did fall.
