Sidewalks Open for Business in New Rochelle's Downtown

Sidewalk Sales are sponsored by the New Rochelle BID.

Coming off the heels of the well-attended 325th Anniversary Street Fair, New Rochelle businesses in the downtown are having a sidewalk sale Wednesday through Saturday.

The New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District is sponsoring the sidewalk sale, said organizer Louis Vaccaro, owner of the Curtain Shop & General Store.

"The weather looks perfect," he said. "People are out walking around."

Vaccaro said as the weekend gets closer more and more merchants will be setting up on the sidewalk.

"I get out there right away," he said, "because we sell a lot of things."

With the Grand Market taking place on Saturday, too, Vaccaro said it should be really busy for the sidewalk sale.

The next Sidewalk Sale will be October 16-19.
