Planet Fitness Opens at New Roc City

Planet Fitness will hold its official grand opening in New Roc City on Wednesday.

The fitness center has goal of allowing people to exercise in what it refers to as a “judgment-free zone.” 

The two floor workout facility will feature multiple rows of exercise equipment, weights, locker rooms with showers, tanning, red light therapy, massage chairs and even haircuts. The New Roc City gym will be open 24 hours, seven days a week.

“I think people will really love not only the hours but also this facility since it is one of our largest and still comes with all of the benefits the other facilities offer,” said Chris Simmerman, an assistant manager at Planet Fitness.

He said Planet Fitness draws patrons of all ages.

“I signed up a 92-year-old guy yesterday so this definitely is a place where no matter your age or body type, you can workout and have a positive experience,” Simmerman said.

Many New Rochelle residents have already taken advantage of the new facility and have expressed their joy in not having to drive to Yonkers or other places to use their Planet Fitness memberships.

Now until Aug. 31, you can sign up for just $1 down and then $10 per month with no commitment. Customers can pay $20 if they want to take advantage of the gym’s other services and the flexibility to work out at different Planet Fitness locations. With this membership, you can also bring guest with you for free.

Classes are offered every day, with everything from arm, leg, back, chest and abs workouts to designing your own program with a fitness instructor at a designated time of your choosing.
