Why Go: Magician-comedian Jim McClenhan will bring his blend of humor and tricks to the New Rochelle Public Library. Fun for all ages.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: , 155 Fifth Ave, Pelham, NY, Saturday, Jan. 21, 1:30 p.m.
Why Go: The Pelham Art Center is hosting a Chinese New Year Celebration, bringing in the Year of the Dragon with two free art workshops and paper-making crafts.
Pricing: Free.

5.) Sunday Afternoon Music with Eric Jennings
Where/When: , 1 Library Pl., New Rochelle, Sunday, Jan. 22, 1:30 p.m. 
Why Go: Music professor Eric Jennings will explore the legacy of three "almost forgotten" composers—Franz Lehar, Kurt Weill and Erich Korngold. The presentation will include songs from each composer's body of work, performed by soprano Geraldine McMillian-Wray, accompanied by Professor Jennings on the piano.
Pricing: Suggested donation of $2.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
