Some of you lost your lights last night. Common sense tells me that that the blistering heat wave had something to do with it. Wait, sorry, that was and is not really the case. Tree huggers, One-World fascists and the socialists who now run this country were in on the power failure to perpetuate the myth of Global Warming. That is really what is going down.
It is also true that the earth is six thousand years old, God hates gay people and I am dating Kate Upton simply as a friend to provide her with benefits.
After all, what does science and reason know? Those disciplines are part of the axis of leftism!

If you get a few moments away from books on the afterlife, or you can spare an hour or so off the NRA website, you might want to search for some earth view Space Shuttle photos that capture our planet from the angle that best shows the atmosphere. You will see only a few miles of gas at the top in the same way that wine vinegar sits at the top end of your salad dressing before you shake it up. That thin layer of gases, separated from its heavier siblings, solids and liquids, is all that is keeping us from becoming just another inanimate carbon-based bit of matter, having surrendered our own triumvirate of elements to the universe. Worse, that sacred, vital spark of consciousness which allows to be the thinking creative humans we are would simply vanish into thin…well there would be no air; space then.
It has been Mankind’s hubris that allows him to believe this was all created for him, and that we have no role in its destiny. Most of us cannot accept, it seems, that we are the beneficiaries of a glorious convergence of conditions that allowed conscious life to flourish. We are a result, not an intent. Whatever role a God might have played is a mystery. In any case, we are left as the earth’s caretakers. Perhaps it is time to use the best aspects of our pride, knowledge and intellect, to accept that we have begun to compromise that thin layer of life sustaining air, and that we now have to play some role in stopping the carnage. It really is not a political or religious issue; it is the reality we find ourselves in.

Take another look at that Space Shuttle photo. Do you really believe that all the smoke, toxins and debris we put n the air is not having an effect? Really? Seriously? I realize that we have had climate change as a naturally occurring fact for billions of years. Whoops, sorry, I forgot. The earth is only six thousand years old. But this one does not adhere to the models.
Consider this: In 2007, the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change estimated that Arctic summers would become ice free beginning in 2070. More recent satellite observations have moved the date to around 2035, and even more sophisticated simulations last year moved the date up to 2020. Here is a scary fact: The Arctic Ocean ice sheet has shrunk 350,000sqaure miles…an area the size of Venezuela…in the past year. In 2012, Greenland logged its hottest summer in 170 years, while Alaska registered its highest temperature ever. Here is one for you hockey fans; ice rinks in northern Canada are now starting to install refrigeration equipment for the first time.
The information in the previous paragraph was taken from Foreign Affairs magazine, paraphrased from a piece written by Scott Borgerson. I note this not simply because attribution is called for. Rather, I wish to point out that the article was created to present the political implications of the reality of climate change on northern countries. It was written without consideration for the debate, mostly fostered by America’s right leaning politicians and businesses, that climate change is a hoax. Sure, there are those way out there on the left who will leave you feeling that they like animals and plants more than people. Some of them will even tell you so.
But it is high time, now that we are all sweating, to wake up and accept that we are blowing toxic smoke and chemicals into our tiny air supply. It is indeed, getting hot and nasty inside this little helmet. Worse, we have no place else to go.
