Sphere Today, Gone Tomorrow

A Ridgefield artist's creations are seemingly popping up randomly in Keeler Ridge Meadow.

Those driving along Route 33 in Wilton might notice something out of the ordinary in Keeler Ridge Meadow: Spheres of various colors and sizes are appearing, disappearing and reappearing throughout the open space parcel.

But rest assured. It's not the work of miscreants or extraterrestrials. The work is that of Christopher Curnan, a Ridgefield-based artist whose work incorporates "industrial and 'found' materials," according to a press release.

The exhibit on display at Keeler Ridge Meadow is called "All One Color."

“Part of my inspiration comes from our ancestors who used, reused, and turned into tools many parts of their environment taking cues from their world and the animals and nature surrounding them,” Curnan said.

It wasn't until recently he became able to make art full time.

“I have finally hit my stride,” he said.

Keeler Ridge Meadow is owned by the Wilton Land Trust. The group decided to host Curnan's exhibit because of his commitment to the environment.

Drove by a little while ago and they are capped in snow. Looked like oversized pool balls.

Saw half of one on the residential property across the road. hope they don't fly away in heavy winds. Seem a bit incongruous in a natural setting and a bit distracting to driving.

How neat, Carol! If anyone gets a picture of snow-capped marbles, feel free to add it to the gallery of this article.

Believe me, the wind can't blow those things.
