Restaurant Week Home Stretch: Take the Train

The second week of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is upon us, and Metro North officials have come up with an interesting marketing idea: take the train!

Here's their pitch:

There are 80 restaurants participating in Hudson Valley Restaurant Week that are steps away or a short cab ride from Metro North Stations on the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven Lines.

Hudson Valley prides itself on its agriculture, and the use of locally produced ingredients is highlighted in the many culinary offerings. The area has dozens of indoor and outdoor farmers markets featuring an abundance of fruit and vegetables, in addition to artisanal breads and cheeses.

The region has also become highly regarded for its diverse and interesting wine production. Expect to see a number of reds and whites from local wineries featured on dining menus duringRestaurant Week.

While reservations are strongly recommended and in many cases required, diners don’t have to worry about passes, tickets or coupons. They can simply choose from a list of restaurants online at http://www.hudsonvalleyrestaurantweek.com/restaurants_2014.php.
