Grab & Go Kids Planner: Trains, Crafts and Fish

Fun weekend events for the kids.

Why Go: This exhibit, organized by Dr. Paul Greenburg of the Westchester/Yonkers Model Railroad Club, will feature miniatures mimicking the look of a small town.
Pricing:
$10, adults; $9, students and seniors; $8, children ages 2-12; members and children under 2, free.

Beczak Environmental Education Center, 35 Alexander St., Yonkers, Saturday, Dec. 10, 11 a.m.
Why Go: Let your kids ages 5-12 craft a holiday gift for you using natural materials, while enjoying hot cocoa by the hearth.
Pricing:
Free.

Where/When:
Lakeshore Learning Store, 969 Central Park Ave. Ste. A, Scarsdale, Saturday, Dec. 10, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why Go:
Every session has its own theme and kids can enjoy creating arts and crafts with other children.

Why Go: Why not learn interesting fun facts about fish with your kids? Professor of biology sciences at Rutgers University and author of Do Fish Swim?, Judith Weis is the fish expert to talk to then. You can even get a signed copy of her book, which will be for sale at the event.
Pricing:
$10 for general admission; $5 for students, teachers and seniors.

New York Botanical Garden, 2900 Southern Blvd., Bronx, Saturday, Dec. 10, Sunday, Dec. 11, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Why Go:
Children can view miniatures of New York landmarks and, of course, trains. There will also be a film.
Pricing:
Adults, $20; students/seniors, $18; children 2-12, $10; children under 2 and members, free.
