Freedom on Display at New Rochelle City Hall

The exhibit marks the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.

An exhibit exploring the theme of freedom in every day life is on display at the Rotunda Gallery in New Rochelle City Hall through March 31.

"Freedom! A 150 Year Commemoration of the Emancipation Proclamation" is being presented by the New Rochelle Council on the Arts. It features works by artists including Marray Beaver, Cristina Cerone, Cecelia Duncan, Barbara Levine, Judith Weber and Hubert Williams.

The arts council was created in 1975 to encourage the study and presentation of performing and fine arts. This season its programs are made possible, in part, by ArtsWestchester with funds from Westchester County, the City of New Rochelle and the arts council's membership.
