[VIDEO] Frances Sternhagen Reads to Seniors in New Rochelle

The award-winning actress read to seniors at Willow Towers Assisted Living facility on Pelham Road.

On Friday, actress Frances Sternhagen, a New Rochelle resident since 1959, visited Willow Towers Assisted Living, part of the complex on Pelham Road. She was there to participate in the Short Stories reading series, one of many activities for residents at Willow Towers.

Sternhagen's career includes replacing Dana Ivey in Driving Miss Daisy on Broadway, as well as recurring roles in Cheers, The Closer, Sex and the City and ER on television and appearances in such movies as Outland, Misery and Julie & Julia.

She read one act of a play by Jeffery Hatcher called Three Viewings which take place in a funeral parlor. Sternhagen read the part of a recent widow who finds out her husband had mob connections.
