The College of New Rochelle Drama Presents Sondheim's 'Assassins'

CNR Drama will present Stephen Sondheim’s stirring and surprisingly patriotic musical “Assassins” from April 20 – April 29.  With a book by John Weidman, and based on an idea by Charles Gilbert, Jr., “Assassins” takes us into the lives and circumstances that drove nine men and women to attempt (successfully or otherwise) to assassinate Presidents of the United States. The music varies to reflect popular music of the times, from the 1860s to the 1980s. They’re all here – from Booth to Hinckley –portrayed by a stellar cast of actors from New York and the surrounding communities. Students of CNR Drama participate in the cast and crew.  The musical is directed by Laurie Castaldo, with music directed and conducted by Kurt Kelley.
