Arab Labor

Best Israeli Comedy Series, Best Actress - Clara Khoury, Israeli Academy Awards 2011

Shown at more than 60 film festivals, it’s a hilarious, critically acclaimed comedy series that’s been broadcast on Israel’s commercial TV for 3 seasons.  Created by Sayed Kashua, an Arab Israeli journalist, and author, Arab Labor (in Hebrew Avoda Aravit) focuses on Amjad, an Israeli Arab journalist whose attempts to assimilate into Israeli society expose prejudices and stereotypes from both sides of the Israeli Jewish-Arab divide. It’s filled with eccentric characters and brilliant writing.
