Julia Breanetta Simpson will perform a one-woman musical performance titled Harlem on My Mind, chronicling the influential time period of the Harlem Renaissance.
The performance will feature the music of Duke Ellington, Thomas ‘Fats’ Waller, Harold Arlen, Irving Berlin and more.
Other highlights will include the poetry of Langston Hughes, and a glimpse into the charismatic personalities of Bessie Smith, Ethel Waters and Josephine Baker.
