Composer/guitarist Charlie Rauh has been awarded grants from such organizations as Meet The Composer, The Fractured Atlas Group, The Klaustrid Foundation, The Untitled Artists Group, The Herndon Arts Council, and The International Studios at Denkalschmiede Hofgen. Often marked by an interest in delicate tone and melodic complexity, his improvisatory style emerges as a singular voice as well as a steadfast harmonic foundation. He served as composer in residence at Skriduklaustur in East Iceland in 2010, and is an active teacher, session player, performer, and improviser in the NYC new music scene.
Concetta Abbate began studying violin at the age of four and has performed in various orchestras and chamber ensembles in the Long Island/New York City area her whole life. At the age of 16 she was granted the opportunity to tour Australia, New Zealand, Samoa and the Cook Islands with the Long Island Youth Orchestra. She graduated from Smith College in 2009 with a bachelors degree in Anthropology, with a specific focus in Ethnomusicology. During her undergraduate career she further expanded her travels to India, Panama and Ecuador- completing her senior project in Mexico. Her early training in Classical music gave her a strong technical foundation from which to branch out to other musical styles such as Latin, Jazz, Folk and Improvisation
