At The Cap: Leftover Salmon, Infamous Stringdusters and Assembly of Dust Friday
Friday's lineup at The Cap guarantees a good time for any blue grass, Americana, jam, rock or folk music fan.

If you are looking for some flavor this weekend, look no further than Port Chester’s The Capitol Theatre serving up a great blend of bluegrass, Americana and jam band music.
Leftover Salmon is famous for bringing blue grass into the jam band scene in Boulder, Co. 20 years ago and pioneering the self-named Polyethnic Cajun Slamgrass” genre. Not sure what that means? Just know that you will be dancing, there is no way not to dance to a Cajun rhythm and blue grass beat.

Assembly of Dust is a band we’ve told you about before. Rye’s own Reid Genauer, who rose to fame with his first band Strangefolk in the 90s founded Assembly of Dust, now a popular rock/jam band known for playing a mix of Americana, folk, rock, bluegrass and more.
The Infamous Stringdusters, another accomplished blue grass band, are proudly more than just a talented group of musicians. The band just wrapped up their 40th Anniversary American Rivers Tour, where a dollar from every ticket went towards the American Rivers organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the nation’s rivers and streams. The band hosts a music festival (The Festy Experience) later this fall where no plastic cups will be used, but a steel beverage cup is included with each patron’s ticket, vendors will provide locally sourced food and beverages and other measures are taken to make it as environmentally friendly as possible. If you can't make it Friday, don't worry, Saturday's show promises to be different, but just as good with The Mickey Hart Band and Tea Leaf Trio. Mickey Hart is a grammy-award winning Grateful Dead percussionist who released a new album this summer, Superorganism. He continues his music career and research into music therapy and aging at age 70. According to Jambase.com Hart will perform with an EEG cap on his head while he plays the sounds of his brain. Since August, Hart has been touring with Trevor Garrod, Reed Mathis, and Cochrane McMillan of Tea Leaf Green.
Tickets are from $20-$35 and the show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.
