ArtsFest Brings Crowds to New Rochelle, Pelham

Venues all around the City of New Rochelle and Pelham took part in the ArtsFest.

Art lovers from all over the area came to New Rochelle Saturday and Sunday for the fifth annual New Rochelle ArtsFest.

The arts festival included Pelham for the second year in a row.

Councilman Ivar Hyden, who owns Backstreet Gallery on Lawton Street, said he was delighted that the city was celebrating artists in the downtown area.

"People can come and see all the wonderful expressions in our fair city," he sai.

Participating venues in New Rochelle included the College of New Rochelle, Artizfacts Studio Gallery, Reverol & Co. and Media Loft.

In Pelham, in addition to the Pelham Art Center and the Picture House, artists lined Fifth Avenue with displays of their works.

Up at Lincoln Park, on Saturday, there was the second annual Arts & Culture Fest, featuring a food truck, vendors, a mariachi band and belly dancers. Attendees also were able to tour the grow! Lincoln Park Community Garden and receive free fresh vegetables.
