Where in New Ro Were We?

This is Patch's weekly location-guessing game that tests your knowledge of the Queen City on the Sound.

3:05 p.m., Oct. 19, 2012: Well it certainly is dreary out there. Would posting the second picture brighten your day?

-------------

Woohoo for the second week in a row to Emily who correctly guessed—at the 11th hour—Chestnut Lane (not West Castle Road—don't know where my head was).

So let's start a new game. Do you know where this shot was taken?

If you do, put your answer in the comments below. The first person to give the correct answer wins bragging rights and some goodies from Patch.

And if you take a trip over to the New Rochelle Patch Facebook page you will find an extra clue or three? While you are there, Like us if you haven't already.

If no one gets it right today, I'll put up another picture tomorrow. And I will keep doing so each day until someone gets it right.

Play on, Patchlanders.

Michael Woyton (Editor) October 20, 2012 at 10:21 pm
Yeah, but no one guessed it back in January. And really, Brian, does it matter if the location has been used before? Really?
Brian O October 20, 2012 at 11:58 pm
O'Really no it's O'Leary.... and no it doesn't matter .
Was just bringing up Old memories.... oh how do I miss the friendly banter and figuring out Charlene's thought provoking hints . BTW... I think the Ramada was only other repeat.....not that it matters.
Brian O October 21, 2012 at 12:11 am

Melanie McKay October 21, 2012 at 12:26 am

Brian O October 21, 2012 at 07:16 pm
Never did see Tom R. 's guess on Friday , which was in comments on Facebook , until 2 minutes ago , way to go Tom . Congrats just the same.
Right location .... wrong web sight.
Michael Woyton (Editor) October 21, 2012 at 10:44 pm
I left a message for Tom that his guess wouldn't be counted but he didn't take the hint. Oh well.

It seemed to me the key point of moving the City Yard from the waterfront was to open up theRead More waterfront and turn that run down and obsolete yard into a public park overlooking Long Island Sound. The westside site was the most cost effective place to move the yard. Not ideal, but no real alternative has been proposed. I don't think this has much to do with racism. All races can enjoy more of the waterfront. Any development around it will add to our tax base
Martin Sanchez June 12, 2013 at 08:35 am
Ms. Aronow, The issue is that an alternative has been suggested, Ward Acres, as it is much largerRead More and strategically beneficial for the City of New Rochelle. I don't think the recent public discussions has resulted in unanimity in terms of the waterfront being an entirely public venue for all races to enjoy.
