Where in New Ro Were We?

Patch's location-spotting game that tests your knowledge of the Queen City.

2 p.m., Feb. 1, 2012: With the first of February comes the last picture for this week. Here is No. 7. Will we start a new game with Charlene as the reigning champ?

-------------

3:15 p.m., Jan. 31, 2012: Whoa! Where did January go? How about taking a look at Picture No. 6. Keep on guessing.

-------------

2:47 p.m., Jan. 30, 2012: Here is Picture No. 5. Nobody's even close so far.

-------------

Noon, Jan. 29, 2012: Picture No. 4 is up as I sit in Beanberry's thawing out from handing out Patch T-shirts and tote bags.

-------------

11:20 a.m., Jan. 28, 2012: Here's the third picture. Stop by the PatchRV Sunday morning at the Library Parking Lot and say Hi.

-------------

11:20 a.m., Jan. 27, 2012: Hey, at least it's not snow, right? Am I right, people? No one has guessed this week's location, so up goes picture No. 2. Good luck.

-------------

It's Thursday, so let's play a new location-guessing game, shall we?

Do you know where this shot was taken? If you do, put your answer in the comments below. The first person to give the correct answer wins bragging rights and some goodies from Patch.

If no one gets it right today, I'll put up another picture tomorrow. And I will keep doing so each day until someone gets it right.

And be sure to check the New Rochelle Patch Facebook page for the occasional extra clue.

Play on, People of Patch.

OMG WWW players, it’s almost over. Will it be me, CPG with the victory again? IDK but I think that if you just concentrate carefully like you would in Jeopardy, chess or checkers, you will come up with the correct location. Think “Charlene Dictionary Moments”, =X. GLGH. OO.

Sorry, all. I'm calling it for Charlene this week. The location is the JCC of Westchester on Wilmot Road.
Michael Woyton (Editor) February 2, 2012 at 06:32 pm
Wow, Charlene. If it had been a snake...
Melanie McKay February 2, 2012 at 07:10 pm
Wow, I was across the street with the Golden Horseshoe. And I used to belong to the JCC when I was a kid and took gymnastics and swimming. Both of which I don't do today. LOL
Nummy February 2, 2012 at 09:03 pm
That's in Scarsdale, not New Rochelle. but with all the dead brain cell from trying to find where this was I'm probably wrong.
Michael Woyton (Editor) February 2, 2012 at 10:51 pm
Nummy, it's a Scarsdale Zip code, but the property is in New Rochelle.

Bit who where ??
CP Goldberg February 3, 2012 at 01:43 am
Melanie, if only you would have kept up the swimming and tumbling, you would have gotten this on the first guess! "Just Concentrate Carefully like you would in Jeopardy, Chess or Checkers". Take the first letters. JCC 2x in this one sentence. Never can tell where you'll find a clue.
“Charlene Dictionary Moments”, =X. GLGH. OO. AKA [my lips are sealed/good luck & good hunting/over and out]. B.O, you should have gotten these, ha ha.

It seemed to me the key point of moving the City Yard from the waterfront was to open up theRead More waterfront and turn that run down and obsolete yard into a public park overlooking Long Island Sound. The westside site was the most cost effective place to move the yard. Not ideal, but no real alternative has been proposed. I don't think this has much to do with racism. All races can enjoy more of the waterfront. Any development around it will add to our tax base
Martin Sanchez June 12, 2013 at 08:35 am
Ms. Aronow, The issue is that an alternative has been suggested, Ward Acres, as it is much largerRead More and strategically beneficial for the City of New Rochelle. I don't think the recent public discussions has resulted in unanimity in terms of the waterfront being an entirely public venue for all races to enjoy.
