The New Rochelle Farmers Market opened for the season Friday, presenting fresh fruits and vegetables available for the community to purchase.
Frankie Rowland, marketing director for Community Markets, said besides the wealth of fresh food, the weekly market was a chance for New Rochelleans to put a face on the farmers who grow the food.
The market is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Friday—rain or shine—at Library Green in New Rochelle's downtown.
Check the Community Markets Web site for information on cooking demonstrations and performances throughout the season.
