Travel Alert: Hutch Lane Closures Start Today

Prepare for lane closures today on the Hutchinson River Parkway.

Commuters, leave some extra time if you are driving on the Hutchinson River Parkway today.

Expect lane closures in both directions on the Hutch, between Exit 30 (King Street) and Exit 18 (East/West Mill Road) starting today, according to the NY Department of Transportation.

From Tuesday, November 12 through Friday, November 15, weather permitting, the DOT will be closing lanes due to maintenance. Leave extra time for travel if you are driving between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on the Hutch.

"Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers," the DOT states.

The DOT also wants to remind folks that, "fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license."
