Speak Out: Watching a Storm that Won't Hit Here?

Folks in Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties should expect little from the passing storm than a bit of snow and high winds, forecasters say. The weather news here is that temperatures will stay cold, according to the National Weather Service.

But everyone's talking about the big nor'easter off the East Coast that's expected to drop a foot of snow on eastern New England through tomorrow.

They're even using the b-word to describe what's happening, meteorologically, with its record-breaking pressure drop.

This storm is forecasted to reach "historic proportions," Hudson Valley Weather said at 7:39 a.m. March 25. "If you have even the slightest interest in meteorology or the power of Mother Nature, you will wanna watch this storm develop over the next 24 hours because you could spend many years waiting for a storm of this size to spin up."
