About 120 clients of Hope Community Services had an early Thanksgiving dinner Tuesday thanks to Mariano Rivera, the Refuge of Hope church and AJ's Burgers.
Rivera, a relief pitcher for the New York Yankees, worked the crowd, posing for pictures with children and adults. Besides the Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, his foundation provided each of Hope's clients with a bag of groceries.
Alan Cohen, the owner of AJ's Burgers, said he was delighted to open his doors and serve the Thanksgiving meal.
