Register Now for YMCA Programs in New Rochelle

The New Rochelle YMCA serves residents of New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Pelham.

Registration is taking place now for fall programs at the New Rochelle YMCA.

Executive Director Julie Gallanty said among the myriad programs the Y offers are the Sailfish Swim Team and Universal Pre-K.

The Sailfish Swim Team is a year-round swim club for swimmers between ages 5 and 18. Practice is held seven days a week using a split-squad schedule.

Tryouts for the 2013-14 season will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. September 4, 5 and 6.

The Universal Pre-K program is in collaboration with the City School District of New Rochelle and is for 4-year-olds who will be entering kindergarten in September 2014.

The Monday through Friday program has morning sessions from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and afternoon sessions from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The program is free for New Rochelle residents, with proof of residency.
