New Rochelle Teacher Co-Authors Non-Fiction Book

A New Rochelle teacher has co-authored a book that chronicles a triumph over tragedy.

Andrew Chapin, who teaches English at Thornton-Donovan School, recently co-wrote "From Tragedy to Triumph," the story of John Tartaglio, a 17-year-old who refused to quit as he battled a bacterial infection that left him amputated up to his hipbones.

Chapin, a Bellmore resident, said that even though he always wanted to be a fiction writer, he welcomed the challenge of co-authoring a non-fiction book.

"This ghost-writing endeavor was a challenge I accepted as it was something I had never done before," he said. "After countless edits and tireless hours spent on the book, I believe I have crafted an inspiring piece that will inspire the multitudes."

"From Tragedy to Triumph," is available in paperback and for Kindle on amazon.com.
