New Rochelle Seniors Remember Loved Ones With Butterflies

One hundred butterflies were release in a remembrance and celebration of life ceremony.

At Willow Towers Saturday, residents and staff gathered to pay tribute to loved ones.

They released 100 butterflies to commemorate those who touched their lives.

The butterfly release was at the end of a ceremony during which the names of 85 people residents had submitted were read.

The butterflies were shipped to Willow Towers in suspended animation. It took a few moments in the sunshine before they were active enough to begin flying around the courtyard.

Willow Towers, which is an assisted living facility for seniors, is part of the complex on Pelham Road.
