New Rochelle's Huguenot Library to Kick Off 15th Anniversary

The children's library is located on North Avenue.

The is throwing itself a party to celebrate its 15th anniversary.

The non-profit Partnership for the Huguenot Children's Library is hosting a free Family Fun Day from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 12.

There will be musical entertainment by Zev Haber, along with refreshments and crafts, just in time for Mother's Day.

Lisa Bonalle, president of the partnership, said that, since May 7-13 is Children's Book Week, it was the perfect time to kick off their celebration.

"The Huguenot Children's Library continues to be a vital hub of reading, learning and creativity for the children of New Rochelle," she said.

Other activities include the return June 26 of Old Fashioned Summer Fun program, which offers supervised activities and access to play equipment for ages 3 and up, the Sept. 29 Lego Day and the library's Gala Dinner Dance and Benefit Auction Nov. 30 at Glen Island.

The Huguenot Children's Library is located at 794 North Ave. at Eastchester Road.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
